Pros

Management was always courteous, professional, and offered great mentorship in the sales process. Some days were harder than others, but I met some great people, learned a lot along the way, and walked away with an overall positive viewpoint of Tradehome as a company.

Cons

It's a retail job selling shoes at all price points, so (when I worked there in 2018), until one attained a managment position, the pay was pretty bare bones. If I had been in a less fortunate financial situation, I would've certainly had to work multiple jobs to make ends meet. Also, as a personal preference, I'm not a huge fan of inconsistent scheduling times (though that wasn't a significant issue for me at the time). Then again, it was an entry-level retail sales position, and I knew somewhat what I was getting into.

Pros

ESOP, Profit Sharing, health, dental and vision Insurance. Granted, this review could change depending on if they actually pay out the ESOP and Profit Sharing.

Cons

There’s so many. Goals that are always set with them knowing you’ll never be promoted. The locker room talks they call supervisor meetings. No follow up on performance, biased reviews submitted at year-end evaluations. They say reviews are to be honest without fear of retaliation which is the furthest thing from the truth. The home office will make sure they find every reason not to promote someone. They have their favorites who brown-nose and don’t challenge leadership. When upper management is asked more heavy hitting questions they dance around a direct answer. You never get straight forward responses. There’s no such thing as an HR department there. Good luck getting help for medical situations. They are very hush hush about your sick/vacation/and personal time that you can use. There’s no way to look it up. It is always just a guessing game. They gaslight you into thinking they are like a family and they take care of family. Don’t drink the Kool-aid. The healthy workplaces are all about work life balance and keeping the 2 separated. The president of the company can flaunt his jordans and jean at manager meetings but expects his floor managers to wear polished leather shoes and business casual attire, (no jeans, cargo pants, leggings) . The hypocrisy really shows what the leadership team things of their managers at the store level. I also loved the diversity push. If you have to focus on diversity you know there’s a HUGE problem within the organization.
