Pros
Free lunch was great, but not necessary. I think everyone would prefer a raise than a free sandwich. You will have some co-workers who are really fantastic. Santa Monica is a nice place to work, and the health insurance is pretty top quality for a fairly low premium. Pay is decent, but more on that later.
Cons
Where to even start. They are a company run by women, but do very little to actually ensure the women that work there are supported and properly compensated for the work they're doing . . . unless you are a favorite of the C-level execs. And you'll know right from the start who those people are. Longevity is rewarded more than actual talent, and real talent frequently goes untapped. People who have been there for a while are all looking for jobs or are trying to figure out what's next. One review here called it Stockholm Syndrome, and that's not too far from the truth. They bribe you with free lunches, unlimited vacation, fun happy hours, and the whole "grow from within" schpiel, which to a fresh young thing out in the working world for the first time can certainly seem like a dream come true. But even with hard work (and you'll work incredibly hard for the promise of . . . free pizza on Friday?), coming by advancement opportunities are reserved for those favorites we already discussed. You will do work that is outside of your job title, and you won't get paid for it. And you will be on Slack. EVERY. MINUTE. OF. THE. DAY. And let's not forget the dogs. So so many dogs. Most of which are untrained and will pee with abandon anywhere they see fit. I LOVE dogs. I have a dog myself. I would never bring my dog to work if it habitually defecated in a place where I'm supposed to conduct business (no pun intended). It's a really cushy gig for the first two-ish months. You've got built-in friends. You don't have to pay for much outside of your rent and the exorbitant booze bills you'll inevitably spend going out 3–4 nights a week with the people who will literally become the only people you talk to. But there really is more to life than Tradesy. And the faster you realize it, the less you'll be stressed out about a company that literally sells used women's fashion online. That website already exists. It's called eBay, and it does pretty well. If you're thinking about working here, just maybe don't? Unless you need health insurance.
