Pros

Work from home. Technically an easy job, sort of like a call center. Equipment is provided. HR Orientation was wonderful.

Cons

I feel like I was bait and switched. During company orientation, this company seemed like a dream. They had a noble goal, an incredible (almost too good to be true) story about their founder, and this seemed like a place where you could really advance and grow within the company. I was so passionate about this job. Fast forward to a short couple of days later when I started actually working in my role. I received minimal and often incorrect training. They had us train with multiple people, who would often contradict what the previous person said. It seems that no one really has any idea what the correct way to do things is. You are expected to "learn on the job" but then when you ask questions, management is nowhere to be found and unable to answer questions. They will not respond to you throughout the day. There is a lot of catty behavior, gossip and infighting. You are constantly micromanaged. There is heavy usage of remote monitoring software as well, and this is not disclosed. If you have a suggestion or ask for clarification on unclear expectations/responsibilities, management will literally ignore your message and not respond and pretend like nothing ever happened the next day. It is impossible to get clarification on the ever changing job responsibilities. The work that I do every day is not what I was told I would be doing during the interview process. Expectations are continuously set and then dropped and processes are changed overnight without any announcement. Then you will get told you are doing something wrong because you were never told about the change in process. When asked about it, a snarky comment from a manager will ensue. Something like "I don't know how you guys missed this, we've been doing this for weeks now." They will constantly introduce a new process to "make things easier" and then turn around and say "now that this new process has made things easier, we have added new responsibilities." Management is not open to discussing staff concerns or troubleshooting processes. They are blatantly disrespectful to staff and intentionally ignore concerns that are brought up by multiple team members. They talk a lot about their work culture and how they care about employees, but serious concerns are not addressed at all. They will literally be ignored, as if the manager just didn't happen to read the message. They also refuse to put anything in writing. And when you say "you told us the process/policy for this was ____" they will say that was never the case, and that you have just been doing it wrong the entire time. Multiple team members asked for policy changes to be dictated in writing after several instances of that occurring, and it continues to not be addressed in any way. We are often expected to do things we were never trained on. Then when asking if we could please have some training before doing that new thing that we have never encountered, they reply "we're working on it, but we are gonna start doing it, so just let us know if you have questions." When the time comes to ask questions... management is nowhere to be found. They talk a lot about taking breaks, but it is often necessary to work off the clock after hours and work through lunch in order to meet the metrics required of management. There are other specific things I'd like to talk about, but I am afraid of retaliation.
