Pros
I have never worked at a place that puts as much emphasis on career progression and succession planning. Naturally, the best opportunities go to the highest performers.
Cons
Built on acquisitions, Ingersoll Rand struggles with the various histories of predecessor companies. Employees identify themselves with the old brands and old decisions which is a challenge to making decisions that effect all the businesses under the umbrella. The pay is decent but not terrific until one becomes eligible for performance and management bonuses, but still lags compared to other major companies, particularly in the Charlotte metropolitan area.
