Pros
911 call experience. You have the opportunity to network with hospital staff and law enforcement.
Cons
Company hires many EMRs. Maybe 3 times per month, you may get stuck with an EMR and will have to manage patient care by yourself all day. Company will put you on late calls 50% of the time. Average of 7-8 transports and 10-12 calls per day. Rarely at a post for long. Low pay as the base is $18.00. HC is expensive. 401k vested schedule is 2 years, and many employees do not last that long. Equipment is unreliable; the phones and laptops will randomly either shut off, die or experience network issues. Turnover is extremely high for this company. It's a shame because this company has potential, but the pay is far too low considering the amount of calls they dispatch.
