Great coworkers. Kind, and fun to work with! People here are driven by a genuine commitment to the mission. Many have become my friends outside of work. Supportive and trusting atmosphere. I can't speak for all staff, but I've enjoyed a healthy work-life balance, and I would guess that most others do. Work schedules are flexible. Strong equity and inclusion practices. Overall a very positive experience over the years I've worked here. I've been able to grow immensely, professionally and as a person.

Pay is low compared to similar nonprofits in the Bay Area, but not extremely so. They are working on it.

Flexible! Even better benefits! Treated like humans with lives outside of the organization. Learning and experimenting encouraged (especially if you luck out with a great supervisor). Fun culture and even more fun coworkers. They really try hard to retain talent.

If you’re a person of color, it’s hard to move up the ranks. You have to fight twice as hard to be recognized as a credible person who deserves that title and salary increase. Also with some Directors you have to put up with being micro-managed because you’re a person or color.
