Pros
- Great discounts on products. - Great opportunities to host events for your local cycling community. - They give you free merch when they acquire your store. (I couldn't think of anything else.)
Cons
I want to let it be know that I was on a store that was acquired within the last few years. Prior to Trek coming in our owner always made sure to get us our 40 hours and we had annual meetings to discuss raises. Since Trek has come in. - The company has gutted most of our previous employees leaving us severely short staffed while constantly complaining about why we cant get more "projects" done. - Corporate will not allow anyone to get their 40 hours and consistently keeps cutting full time hours. - They've continually led part time employees on about giving them full time employment and from one day to the next let them know they have no hours for them for the upcoming month. (People can't live on the idea of a job) - They continue to say that they don't have the budget for people while continuing to acquire more stores and then keep letting those people go. - They continue to set unrealistic expectations while in the midst of a recession and offer no support from marketing or any advertising to help drive customers to the shops. (We had a better marketing operation as a small shop.)
