No PTO Health insurance is very expensive if you're married, and you're required to pay the premium in between assignments You don't get paid for federal holidays (used to, but now they deduct your hourly, housing, and per diem for each day missed, even a holiday) Assignments are not guaranteed--you can go weeks without one
