Pros

Tricore has a small company and entrepreneurial feel to it, but is a part of a larger network of companies. People are innovative, fun, and quite creative. The environment is amazing and one can feel creative just by being in it. Management spends a fair amount of time during the recruiting and selection process to find people who not only can do their job extremely well, but fit in with the overall culture. In effect, everyone has the same type of goals, dreams, and aspirations. This makes for a great working team and makes it really easy to create great friendships.

Cons

The life sciences learning and development industry employs some of the smartest, most sophisticated, and highly educated people. This industry requires a level of perfection that is unsurpassed. When a product is launched, the training deliverables must be flawless. This puts pressure on the solution providers to create material that are nothing short of being perfect. So, a high degree of competence, flawless execution, and constant attention to details is critical in this business.

Pros

Your entry level and need to get your foot in the door. And to learn what NOT to do. On my next interview I had a much more clear understanding of what a better run development department looks like and the outcome of not following industry standard best practices. I was able to actually interview my potential employers. I learned a lot but it was not fun while I was doing it.

Cons

Hours are not standard 8:30 - 5:30. Office space is not inspiring. People there are burnt out, stressed and jaded and not open to different ideas. Work is not very inspiring but that is mostly due to the client base. The content department is valued more than the technology department. They have their IT staff (of 1) doing the software testing. They reuse old code that continually breaks. Mostly because they don't do any version control or source management. From top to bottom the place just lacks passion. Looks like everyone there is just trying to get by. Company owners are just collecting some easy cash.
