Varied role that requires the use of many other roles to complete tasks successfully, such as Linishing, Fettling, Blasting, Inspection, CMM Operation. Hours are great, some variations can be made depending on role.
Cons
Higher management are condescending and two faced. Refuse to accept many roles are highly skilled. Pay is atrocious for skill required in position. Pay rises for in clique only, and only after finding and accepting other job offers. Almost no advancement opportunity due to lack of hiring and cross training, leaving you stuck in role as only person that can complete role. Insulting pay raises in effort to stem exodus of workers after abysmal treatment during the pandemic. HR routinely "wing it" and lie to less experienced employees they know are not in a Union, pretending to not know they were wrong if brought up on it. Management will tell you anything to get away from complaints but will never actually action improvements. Complete inaction on any employee suggestions to make day to day workflow better and more efficient.
