Pros
Job security Incredibly simple work - anybody can do it Whenever they have overtime, it's all voluntary Good benefits and little extras Insurance kicks in after only 3 months You get a week of paid vacation after only 6 months The cafeteria offers a delicious lunch for $3 (day shift only)
Cons
Standing for 8+ hours - my feet are on fire at the end of the day All the little things are nice, but I'd trade them for better pay Starting pay is $12 an hour and there's a $.20 raise every six months, do the math You'd have to work there: 8 years to make $30,000 a year 20 years to make $40,000 a year 28 years to make $50,000 a year Merit raises are extremely rare, apparently they used to be more common No raise for being promoted to machine setup The work is mind-numbingly repetitive Overtime comes and goes
