As the title states, my experience with True Sydney has been False. I was promised the world when I decided to join True Sydney, and the company didn't deliver on a single promise. From the start the business was highly disorganised. They have no internal processes, zero systems or assets to work with and the business owner makes it impossible to get anything done. This was the first FALSE flag, and one I wish that I had paid attention to. The business promised a large amount of inbound leads to close, but there were no leads. They had zero prospects to sell to, zero assets to present with and had no systems or plans to acquire business. They were under prepared, floundering and all the while pushing exceptionally high KPI's. The job offered a set commission for all business closed, plus EOFY bonuses for targets reached . This proved FALSE, less than 6 weeks into the job they tried to add additional KPI's to the commission and reduced the % paid out for closed business even though the % was clearly stated in my employment contract. This was FALSE flag number two. Any business who tries to push a lower commission than what was originally agreed to in an employment contract is out of touch with how much of a slap in the face this is. FALSE flag number three was the company pretending to be a "family business" and saying everyone is "a big happy family" yet firing senior staff members out of the blue. The company changes were masked by a FALSE facade of niceties. Everyone can see through the happy well wishes on a group call, especially when the owner announces that the person is leaving and then disappears for hours when they have promised staff a time to talk about how their jobs will change. In my opinion the business owner is both unhinged and out of touch with how to run an agency. All the FALSE smiles and happy family BS means nothing when the business is falling to pieces. Everyone in the business is scared to speak out on how underpaid, undervalued or over worked they are for fear that the owner won't be happy . The business is more concerned with how it looks than how it is actually performing. The 4th and final FALSE flag was when I discovered I was being paid 15k less than my equal, who resigned the same day a senior member was fired. In my opinion this level of pay discrepancy is unacceptable and one that I can only put down to gender as we had identical experience and the exact same responsibilities. When I brought the pay discrepancy up with the business owner he pretended that he didn't know, which is obviously FALSE. He also refused to entertain the idea of increasing my pay to be in line with my former colleague. This talk was after an incremental pay increase as stated in my contract also wasn't applied to my payslip, which still wouldn't have put me on equal pay to my equal colleague. The way it was handled left me feeling very disrespected and undervalued in the business. I gave my notice promptly after this eventful conversation with the business owner, ending my drama with True Sydney. Just kidding... FALSE! they tried to rip me off for my final pay as well. I have nothing but respect for the individuals who continue to work within the complete mess that is True Sydney. I wish them the best of luck navigating the turbulence and would caution anyone who is planning to join the business in the future to be sure that what is promised to you isn't also FALSE....

Over our 14 years in business, we’ve been a company that has promoted from within, seen interns achieve senior positions and watched with joy others who used True to springboard to other companies like Canva. Working at True has been an unforgettable experience. From starting as an intern to now being in a senior position, it's been a wild journey! From the beginning I was able to work on a multitude of projects and clients with the immense support, guidance and validation from Eric, our Creative Director/CEO and senior creatives. Being pushed out of my comfort zone, being challenged and tackling projects together has honestly helped me grow and boost my confidence in new ways. The best part is the culture. I couldn’t have asked for a better bunch of people to chat to and work alongside with every day. There’s never a dull moment at True - there’s always something interesting going on. I love that we’re able to truly be our authentic selves in a work environment without any judgement. I'm incredibly grateful to be at True and couldn't be happier with my job. They truly care about their employees' wellbeing and always go the extra mile to make sure we're taken care of.

Cons

No cons. With open communication, weekly checkins and monthly catchups with your manager any issues are tackled together and with a ton of care.
