Management candidates...beware - Manager Trulite Employee Review

Pros

Compensation is fair. Trulite goes after high energy, experienced candidates (regardless of industry experience) hoping to feed of that experience and apply it to their needs and culture.

Cons

You better be able to adapt quickly, be prepared for very little transparency, and be able to handle covert micro managing regional leadership. There is very little room for error in Trulite’s business model, so managers who cannot make a positive impact quickly, regardless of your control of inputs that effect the process, are eliminated. If you can handle the hazards of an elevated turnover rate, this might be the place for you. A suggestion... before accepting a management position here, make sure you ask about why your predecessor was separated from the organization. Do not accept a basic BS answer. You deserve to know what you’re risking.

Pros

When I started with Trulite, they were truly committed to the value that HR had in the organization and the strategic partner that we were. That changed over time as the private equity firm that owned them became more short-term, bottom line focused. The leadership team that I worked with in Knoxville was fantastic and I had a seat at the table from day one. I am very proud of all that we accomplished in the 3 1/2 years I was there. We created a great culture, increased engagement and lowered turnover.

Cons

The HR department struggled finishing what was started. Constantly changing priorities and suffered from a lack of cohesive vision and the execution of that vision. The HR department was finally sliced in half for the sake of saving money.
