Pros
* Getting to work on an entertainment product is fun * Exposure to different platforms to develop for * Decent insurance offerings * Work/Life Balance is prioritized * "Unlimited" leave - take as much as you need, subject to manager approval, of course. Typically, this means about 4 - 5 weeks for most people, but it could be more if you needed it and were on top of your work. * Transparency - leadership is very honest with employees about the status of the company and upcoming initiatives and the CEO is willing to answer questions - anonymous or not - during All-Hands meetings. * $20 provided to order lunch each day through Forkable if you come into the office only. * Having a large part of the engineering team members in China means many meetings where the entire team needs to be present are held between 4:30pm - 6pm PDT and I rarely have any other meetings before 11am. * A fair amount of freedom to work at the hours that suit you, outside of meeting times. If you need to take time during the day for an appointment or whatever, nobody cares. * The company is growing and doing better and better at quite an impressive pace. We're also continuing to hire post-pandemic and had no layoffs unlike other big tech companies.
Cons
* There is an office in FiDi in San Francisco (as well as other places in the US, such as LA and NY), and it is decent, but is a ghost town most of the time post-pandemic. * Company culture and camaraderie has suffered due to the vast majority of people working remote * Ever since Fox acquired Tubi in 2020, some of their annoyingly draconian policies have come creeping in - the legal department can enforce some laws that suck to comply with; Slack messages and emails more than 13 months old get automatically deleted; Spending money on employees is now much more tightly controlled and fewer expenses are approved than before. * Not a huge variety of snacks at the office, but I guess very few people use it, so it's probably fair.
