Thank you for your recent feedback. As your business came under new ownership months ago or years ago , I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly to understand what caused your departure. I/Tuthill respected the change in ownership. As Tuthill Corporation’s business strategy evolved to a holding company model, I want to be aware of how new ownership presented you with new challenges, especially as our holding company moves forward with acquisitions. Please send me an email to swestfall@tuthill.com, and we can arrange a call to step away from the keyboard.

Pros

Culture of Tuthill is hard to describe - I worked as a contract person for over a year and was treated as an employee - included in special events and when my contract ended, was given a letter of recommendation which led to full time employment

Cons

None, None and None - and None one more time

Pros

Corporate goals are now realistic, strategic and support long-term growth. The current CEO has a clear multi-year plan that supports sustainability for Tuthill. The challenges of 2020 have allowed this company to actually grow, to strengthen the team, and to drive professional growth throughout team members. It is truly AMAZING to see the progress! Corporate employees are accountable for supporting the manufacturing businesses and tied to financial metrics - they are now in serve of. They know what their business purpose is and they know how to get there. Employees have a natural IDP with cross training within departments, strong partnerships extending enterprise-wide, employees can regularly revisit job descriptions and evolve their skills and tools, and employees understand their choice in how they show up. This is what shapes the culture that allows employees to blossom.

Cons

So many years of clouded direction have allowed competitors to gain market share. Focus was not on product or tools and how to better serve customers, the true fuel for a business. Previous leadership focused on a "journey" that spent years "crossing a meadow." The meadow never had metrics and always shadowed the flat business to employees. The company artificially lived by a culture and story created by an independent agency and never truly understood, created or embraced by employees. This has made it challenging for today's leadership to gain traction, yet in 8 months a difference is already seen and felt. A few employees still lack personal responsibility of being accountable and feel the company owes them something without providing individual contribution - they have confused policy changes with culture and something "they don't like." They seek entitlement without purpose.
