Pros
Tyton mostly recruits incredibly intelligent, kind people with the selling point that they are a strategy consulting firm for education.
Cons
Senior leadership has lost a lot of trust among staff. An unexpected last-minute decision was announced to withdraw visa support for employees. These people were told a week before the filing deadline giving them no time to find a new job and lose a chance at staying in the country by losing a whole year in the H1B lottery process. One was even fired a month after. Keep in mind these people have a super limited amount of time to find another job that will sponsor them (less than 3 months). High turnover. Says they are impact driven but even senior leadership knows that they are not an organization like "Bridgespan" Terrible DEI and definitely terrible retention. Ask how many people want to leave at the moment and that number would probably be much higher than they expect. New hires were told with less than a month notice that their start date would be pushed back. Likely they had already moved to the city and no financial assistance was offered. The only two Black junior consultants were promoted significantly slower than their peers.
