Pros

You get good benefits, that's about it.

Cons

Overbearing micromanging managers, you really have someone over your shoulder the whole time it feels like. My supervisor would schedule hour and a half meetings to review things we could of done in 15 minutes. My supervisor would literally ask to review each email before I sent it out to see if it was, "up to standard," this is some of the most petty and unnecessary work conditions I've ever worked in. If you like work-life balance and managers who give you some freedom then this is NOT the job for you. Stay far away as possible. You'll be stuck in pointless, soul grinding meetings all day that add no value. The director of the student learning center sells her center very well but when you start working there you'll quickly realize it's no different than any other academic bureaucracy. Not to mention as a professional worker you're assigned, "homework," from the director to, "assess your strengths," these assessments are little more than non-sense busy work. If you want to really work somewhere where you feel like you can make an impact in students learning experience then look elsewhere. The bureaucratic and soul draining vibe of this place will suck that passion out of you, you only need to talk to the current professional coordinators/staff to find out for yourself.

Cons

None that I can think of
