Pros
All in all I've thoroughly enjoyed working as a Summer School Full-time English Teacher for UKLC over the past three years at Chester University and Reaseheath College campuses. What I particularly like about UKLC is the thorough and intensive induction programme over the initial 3 days covering company values and policies, along with the computer system enabling you to effectively use multimedia in the classroom from your first day of teaching. Basically, you are well supported to use the tools for the job from day one. Moreover, Head Office provide an Introduction to UKLC on day one of the programme, enabling you to participate in teambuilding activities, making you feel as one of the team and facilitating working with your colleagues immediately. All classroom material is prepared and uploaded onto the IT system by the UKLC academic team and I find the material more than adequate and well geared with its multitude of activities to B1 and B2 levels (ie) intermediate and upper intermediate levels. This is ideal when you are teaching classes 6 hours a day and you can plan your lessons quickly. From a paternalistic point of view, accommodation is comfortable and practical and the meals also provided in the package suits all tastes. The support you receive on site is exemplary as there is always a member of staff available to solve any issues.
Cons
I have very few issues to report, but it could be arranged that staff are allowed to arrive at site and move into their accommodation the day prior to commencing Summer School to enable staff to become more familiar with their surroundings prior to starting the induction programme.
