We do have a great history! UL has kept pace with innovation from the Machine Age to the Digital Age, and we wouldn’t be where we are today if it weren’t for our hardworking employees. Thanks to them, we are able to compete in areas such as cybersecurity, sustainability and IoT, while remaining agile for what’s next. Thanks for the feedback!

Pros

- The team is great. Both morning and night shift tend to interact well and joke. Both teams know the importance of time and place meaning they take work seriously but also have fun. - Manager of the department is really cool and is a team leader. Really cares for the team - Good job to gain experience

Cons

- Peak season is a drag. 72hr weeks for ~11 weeks really takes a toll, and upper management doesn't really do anything to help. - The pay isn't all that great compared to other engineers in the Bay Area. - Certification testing follows the procedures of the client and regulatory agencies. There isn't much room to express creative thought. Mundane work. - Regional Manager doesn't have the interest of the employees, only of the client. Regional would go to the meeting as a yes man to the client without consulting the engineering leads. - Ever since UL Solutions went public, it doesn't feel like a safety company. They care more about how much money they can make or save than about the safety of the consumer product.

Although these situations are time‑limited and part of real project demands, we recognize that extended hours can be challenging and are not something we want to become the norm. We are actively exploring ways to better balance workload expectations, provide clearer guidance around work hours, and ensure managers have the tools to support healthy work practices. We appreciate this feedback.
