      Not bad but not fantastic either - Laboratory Technician UL Solutions Employee Review

      Pros

      Work culture is fairly comfortable and preferred schedule is flexible based on what you need.

      Cons

      Workload is high due to multiple recent layoffs. Most folks are doing the job of what was previously 2-3 or more different positions. There is no down time and most are working overtime every week to keep up with the regular workload. There is no option for moving up in the department I currently work in but I can’t accurately say what it’s like in the company as a whole. Lateral moves seem to be common in order to gain new experience

      Pros

      UL solution was my first office job and engineering experience. It did not disappoint, and got me excited for my future, The HR and hiring team were all so nice and helpful throughout my internship. My managers were helpful, patient, and understanding when I had a family emergency near the end of my internship that forced me to leave the country temporary. The internship showed the various departments in the company, not just the one we had applied for. Would definitely recommend anyone to apply for them.

      Cons

      UL solutions is focused in certifications and safety, so if you are expecting projects involving development and design this is not the place, We had to do a breakdown on products and perform tests to ensure it meets standards of safety.
