UN Environment Programme

Is this your company?

It felt more like mass hiring to meet a quota than genuine efforts to upskill the interns they onboarded - Program Management Intern UN Environment Programme Employee Review

Pros

- Interesting projects to work on and inspirational work environment - Very experienced and kind colleagues - Great hands-on experience

Cons

- No compensation for interns - No structure or learning path for the intership, it was clear that I was brought to the team to mitigate a high workload, which resulted in needing to be extremely proactive to the extent of having to beg people to give me something to do, even if I could tell that everyone had lots on their plates. - My supervisor was always very busy. I only had the opportunity to meet her twice in 6 months, and often forgot or missed communicating important information regarding my internship. - I didn't hear anything from the team until I reached out on the first day of my internship agreement. You really need to put yourself out there and be pushy from time to time. - Administrative processes can be extrimey time consuming and frustrating; it took me a whole month to get a UN email, never got an intership certificate.
