Fantastic Company for Young Professionals - Lots of Opportunity, if you seek it out.. - IT Intern UNFI Employee Review

Pros

The internship wasn't highly structured like some companies - meaning that if you wanted to learn more about the company, meet people, and get noticed -- you actually had to work at it. In my opinion this is a good thing - it reflects the "real world". A lot of internships are task based, but if you do a great job at that task you definitely have the opportunity to expand your horizons. (communicate goals early on with your manager) Great company to intern at, unless you feel the need to have your hand held. If you want to have your hand held go work for Cargill, CH Robinson etc.... but you will be waiting in line for promotions if you are hired behind the 30 other people hired the year you were.

Cons

-Older workforce, can be difficult to come into as a young person. -Slightly boring culture depending on the group you are with.
