Pros

People are friendly and nice. Easy to talk to. Work is very important and far reaching.

Cons

As an individual consultant, you get no healthcare, no sick days off, no holidays. This needs to change. You can only work maximum 11 months out of the year on a full time contract: Every consultant has to have one month mandatory unpaid time off, to avoid legal repercussions, I guess.

Pros

Remote work, mission-driven, name recognition of the UN. Workload was not overwhelming, leading to good work-life balance.

Cons

The most disorganized organization I've ever worked for. Consultants were treated inhumanely - denied basic labor rights. Constant backbiting among team leaders pitted consultants against each other. Problems with incredibly easy solutions spiraled out of control due to the complete incompetency of leaders. Racist/colonialist mindset a major issue at HQ.
