Pros

It is rewarding to work with the kids.

Cons

Office politics, terrible management, and overworking aside, the organization cares very little about quality. They only want money.

Pros

The staff at the school level and network level are dedicated, passionate, thoughtful, and hyper-focused on doing what is best for students. People are willing to acknowledge systems that are broken and work hard to find long-term solutions.

Cons

The work is hard. It takes an emotional toll to see the negative impact a broken education system has on students. It also takes a lot of time to adequately address inequities.

Pros

Benefits are on par with other schools. There are some truly amazing colleagues whose dedication and passion are the highlight of the organization. Leadership appears to have good intentions and is genuinely focused on making improvements for both students and staff.

Cons

Meaningful change is not occurring, and in some areas progress appears to be moving backward. High-performing staff members are leaving, resulting in increased workloads for those who remain. Frequent new initiatives are announced but not always implemented, creating confusion and wasted time. Leadership often communicates improvements that are not reflected in day-to-day realities, dismissing the very real challenges that are looming.
