Pros
Good pay (no benefits until you're full time), nice customers, enjoyed spending time out in the community. The job itself was relatively enjoyable, if not for the workplace culture, the working conditions, and the constant pressure from management.
Cons
Supervisors always want you to go FASTER, FASTER with no regard to your well-being. I NEVER had time for a food or bathroom break on the route if I wanted to make the deadline--I just went without. The heat was HORRENDOUS--I went through bottles and bottles of water every day, stood out in the baking hot sun filling CBU's, and melted to death for hours in the LLV. Management simply told me to get through the boxes faster no matter what. Condescending attitude from supervisors--you are just a body moving mail and parcels around. Blood, sweat, and tears--I can't emphasize this enough. Management is unfeeling and you are guaranteed to sacrifice your life for this job. Not to mention that it takes years (they tell you an average of 6, but it's more like 10-15) to become regular with benefits. I'm tough and can handle a lot of things, but if I wanted to torture someone, I'd make them a mail carrier.
