Pros

Good benefits, most people on the lower staff levels are friendly, steady paycheck, good PTO, good work/personal life balance in most areas.

Cons

Traffic, parking is limited and expensive the cost increases every year. Getting in a managerial position from a staff support position is all but impossible even if you have a college degree. NO professional development paths for support staff. Gender bias in the technical positions, especially in the IT related areas. IT management can be very passive/aggressive with support staff. Out of touch with modern technology. Low pay for the market in comparison to other state agencies. They hire a LOT of people who are really not qualified for the positions the put them in. Frequent changes to business processes that makes them disorganized.
