Pros
Job stability. Almost no action short harassment or complete apathy toward job can get you fired.
Cons
Benefits are good (used to be great). Slowly chipping away at them. Very minor gains in maternity leave recently for non-physician positions (2 weeks paid instead of 1). Bottom line is clinical labs is a revolving door. Great to start your career but no incentive to stay past 5 years to be vested in WRS. Promotions are few and far between with laughable pay increases.
