Pros

-Great environment between colleagues. -Good place to learn if it is your first job (only worth staying for 1-2 years max).

Cons

-Low salaries. -Very few seniors in the company (difficulty to hire/keep due to low salaries and the established work processes). -You will likely work on multiple projects at the same time (especially if working on public and European tender projects), with very smalls teams (sometimes 1 or 2 people). -It feels like the company sends out proposals to as many projects as they can in the hopes of getting selected for some of them. Some projects are won with the lowest bid, but in reality the project was under budgeted. This results in a work environment of "doing the minimum necessary, as fast as possible" and "just enough for the partners/client to be satisfied so the company can get paid and move on to the next project". -The company relies on key people that have been there for many years to keep everything from falling apart. Preferably hiring people fresh out of university (easily replaceable) to make their work force instead of trying to retain talent or hire experienced people (more expensive). -When you deliver your letter of resignation, from that point on, you are treated like trash. This is where the company takes advantage of employing young people with little (and often none) prior work experience. (The following is especially important if you have been working at Ubiwhere for around 2 years or more) They will go to great lengths to trick you with the maths behind the final pay values AND into signing documents stating they owe you no money when, likely, that is not the case. If you don't sign, they won't pay you. You are left with the option of signing or having the trouble to get a lawyer involved. You should inform yourself near family, friends and the national work authority (ACT) and go for the latter option.

Pros

The colleagues are talented and hardworking individuals.

Cons

Deceptive Hiring Practices: Management targets recent university graduates with the promise of "fully remote" or "highly flexible" work. However, the contracts are written with the office in Aveiro as the official workplace. The Switch: After you’ve settled in, the company has a history of suddenly demanding a 100% return to the office with almost zero notice. This forces employees to either move their entire lives to Aveiro immediately or face termination/resignation. Lack of Support: Despite the forced relocation, there are no relocation benefits, no salary adjustments for the change in lifestyle, and a complete lack of empathy for the personal toll this takes. Legal & Turnover Issues: This isn't an isolated incident. There is significant turnover and multiple legal disputes regarding these labor practices.

Pros

- The atmosphere among the team is very good. - Flexible schedule for unexpected needs. - People have a helpful culture. - The projects are interesting.

Cons

- There is no culture of implementing processes in the company; Each team/employee does things their own way; It is noticeable that the management has no experience in managing teams and processes. - Evaluations every 6 months are useless. Everything that is said just stays on paper, no action is taken. - The timetable is flexible, but watch out for overtime. Never accumulate overtime, there is an expiry date for using overtime (it's fair), this expiry date is stipulated by the company but it's not recorded anywhere and overtime is easily lost (obviously it's not paid). - The UI/UX salary at this company is currently below market at around 300 euros. The salary at this company includes vacation and Christmas bonuses in twelfths, which makes it seem like the same salary as the market but it's not. - The projects are interesting, but as the management is often inexperienced, some processes are bad and a lot of time is wasted on mistakes and doing things badly. - It's not allowed to grow up in this company. There is no transparency in the levels of progression within this company. Matters of salary and career progression are top secret between people. Management is not clear about how their employees can grow within the company. Overall, this company has shown itself to be a mediocre company that wants mediocre employees, on mediocre salaries. It’s only a good company to start.
