GREAT COMPANY TO WORK FOR!! - Account Manager Ulterior Motives Employee Review

Pros

The company has a strong leadership team and ownership that goes the extra mile to let employees know that they are valued. You really have an opportunity at this company to manage your business without being micro-managed. In my experience, they provide exceptional opportunities for growth and advancement. Most co-workers are longtime employees that started as entry level coordinators and are now Senior Managers or Directors. They seem to really look to promote from within. There is a family atmosphere - the company celebrates every holiday and has regular happy-hours for all employees.

Cons

The industry/job requires a great deal of time and energy to be successful. However, good work and dedication is always recognized and rewarded internally.

Pros

UMI is an absolutely amazing place to work - the executive team truly has a "people first" approach to workplace culture and it shows! Since the new management team has taken over, collaboration between teams and departments has skyrocketed and employee voices are heard and their ideas are implemented to improve the day-to-day processes for meeting client needs, as well as streamlining the internal processes for all departments. UMI also has a dedicated culture club that organize and manage games/events for all who want to participate - they're a ton of fun!! Overall, UMI is a great place to work if you want to wake up every day excited to go in to work!

Cons

None to report since new management.

Pros

- It takes having a really bad job to help you appreciate a good one. This is that bad job. - If you are desperate for employment, like so many are coming out of college, take this job, but immediately start looking for something better. - Work with well-know brands, although in a very narrow and distant capacity. - Opportunity to learn about printing on a large, commercial scale.

Cons

- Toxic management and a culture of fear. - Feedback is nonexistent until you are ambushed, often publicly. - Be prepared to lose your job on a whim. You are at the mercy of the owner and it is absolutely personal. - Encouraged by management to mislead and withhold the truth clients. - Pay is far below industry standards, especially considering the work-load. - Zero innovation; this is a fulfillment "paper pushing" job. - No path for advancement. The handful of people in charge will make sure of this. - Very strange office space and location.
