Pros
Great mission, cause, co-workers, and teaching environment. I felt like I had a lot of the material supports I needed and administration was deeply committed and eager to see the work be successful.
Cons
It’s been many years since I worked here, but I ultimately left because the work wasn’t sustainable for me long term. Extended school days with Saturday School + extended school year + no PTO + hours of grading and lesson prep each day. It’s been years since I left to find a job with better work/life balance. I miss the creative and high-achieving environment; I hope that administration has built in some structures to make work/life balance more attainable for employees.
