Pros

Organise fun socials and trips (only for top billers).

Cons

Very micromanaged and target driven. You’ll be told the working day is 8:30am-6pm but if you stick to those hours you will be questioned as to why you aren’t coming in earlier/staying later. Turn over is very high at least one person leaves every week, this is down to bad management and mangers not being trained correctly. There’s no support for your mental health and if you are struggling you’ll be questioned as to whether this is the right job for you instead of being helped. There’s no freedom/trust you are being watched all the time and at the end of each day you have to stand up and say what you did that day, even if you’ve had a bad day you have to tell everyone in your team all about it.

Our managers have been trained and are required to spend time every week desk-side coaching and setting up new starters, many of whom are new to recruitment with the various processes and training needed. Alongside this our in-house training team is fully committed to supporting new joiners with the tools they need for a successful career at UR. We recognise that recruitment can be very challenging at times which is why we strive to support all of our employees with their work-life balance and mental health. Access to our employee assistance programme, 2-hour lunches, unlimited holidays, gym membership, Calm App subscription, and trained mental health first aiders are just some of the initiatives we have put in place to support our team’s wellbeing and we are always evolving this. We’ve also put in place a wellness committee tasked with driving continual improvements. We are always open to hearing how we can improve. Pros

The career structure of UR literally blows every other US recruiter company out of the water for many reasons. 1) There is a very clear process on how you should be earning, achieving, and proceeding to the next stage in the company. 2) The structure of promotions and earnings doesn't leave anything to the imagination! If you earn/ work hard you succeed and if you don't... then you won't. 3) The HR department, management, and general staff are so kind and really lend you a helping hand to get on your feet. Much like other recruiting firms, you are NOT just tossed off the deep end. In fact, there is a training process that clarifies what you should be doing and why it is important. 3) The people are wonderful. I live in a completely different country from the main hub office but I still feel a strong sense of teamwork from the UK office. 4) Boston specific Pros: The office is beautiful and has plenty of free amenities. The COO gives you hands-on experience that is invaluable and it makes adapting to recruitment a wonderful experience. The environment is competitively fun in a way that makes you want to fill those roles. 5) Lastly, Incentives: If you earn you are open to all-inclusive trips all over the world among many other small perks.
