Pros

There are some great people who have been tricked into working for this company by the snake oil salesmen running the show. They may be able to find you a staffing job in IT paying a mid 100k salary even if you have an outdated skill set. Go into it understanding that this is not a consulting company and you will be fired if you hit the "paid" bench. You will also be sold under false pretenses to your hiring manager for a role that may not match your abilities at all. If you're struggling for work, then this may be a way to get into a company and convert. If you do work here and get fired, the biggest positive is everyone that this place screwed over will be more than happy to help you land on your feet.

Cons

Everything about this place is negative. 1. It is ran by a misogynistic group of frat brothers from the pinnacle of higher education, WSU. Being an alumni is enough of a vetting process to be hired. I have also been told by the CEO that I should wear glasses and my hair up to "look smarter". It shouldn't be a surprise that he has had his own #timesup moment at his last real engagement. 2. My manager once told me that they couldn't believe how someone like our CEO got to this position. He was disgusted by him and only hired from us because we usually had good PMs and were substantially cheaper than the competition. We also were more likely to convert to being a FTE even though taking substantial pay decreases. Never take the CEO to meet your manager, if they don't hate him already, they will by the end of the meeting. 3. THIS IS A STAFFING AGENCY. A seat opens up, they need a warm body to fill it. That's it. When it comes time to roll-off, be prepared to be fired. No one is a "friend of the firm" after working here. If you roll off early, the brain trust will determine if you're economically viable or will at least hold their feet for a keg stand. 4. You will be expected to be a salesman when in your position. I was repeatedly spoken to for spending too much of my day on "Matisia Business" when being pressured by the account management team and sales person to "get strategic." What a joke. 5. The best talent is gone or leaving. Not only are a majority of the staff NOT from the "Big 4", most have zero real consulting experience. And you will be asked to push a resume to your manager for someone who has hit the bench who in no way is qualified to fill the position. That's always fun. 6. Take all reviews with a grain of salt but the positive ones are fabricated by the internal team. It should be very obvious which are real and which aren't.

Unify Consulting Response

All feedback is valuable to us, regardless of how Unify is portrayed. We disagree with many of the conclusions you’ve drawn and know they grossly mischaracterize our consultant experience. At the same time, your perceptions and conclusions were your reality, tied to your departure and became the basis for your review. In light of your experience, it sounds like you’ll be happier working elsewhere; there was clearly a disconnect between who we are and how you experienced us.

Pros

I was initially hesitant to pursue this job since it was contractual, but given the current state of the market, even employment with promised stability can't be guaranteed. The fact that Unify has a portfolio of clients diversifies your risk. Meaning, if your expertise is not needed at a certain company, you can be moved to another, such as from Meta to Google. Unify has a large portfolio of clients. You get to partake in projects at some of the top enterprise companies, learning different technologies and stacks while meeting some of the smartest people in the industry. My first project was at Pfizer. It started as a normal website, then became a complex end-to-end full-stack app with multiple microservices and complex architecture. My work with the client is very sentimental and rewarding since we built financial dashboards that help budget the workforce needed to make medicine for people in need.

Cons

The only temporary setback is that when you are first hired, you may land on the virtual bench until a project is found for you. That said, the team, especially Ashley from recruiting, is highly responsive and caring. They constantly seek opportunities to make sure you land a project as soon as possible.

Pros

- Interesting strategy of wanting to be an AI Management Consulting Company - Training of employees on AI basics with more to come - Interesting client base (mostly Fortune 500's) - Friendly, smart and talented co-workers - Clients speak highly of their delivery partners - Pay is fair - Insurance benefits are OK

Cons

- If you are on the bench for a week or two, you're gone (unless you are buddies with one of the execs) - Business development team is not strong and doesn't seem to know how to sell the company - They seem to think they have a unique value proposition AI + Management Consulting...it's not - 401k match is a crap shoot and bonuses are nowhere to be found.
