Pros

Lovely co-workers who are passionate about librarianship. Overall supportive admin and leadership.

Cons

Managers are overly concerned with stepping on each other's toes. It can lead to a never ending cycle of looping people in and never getting anything done. Onboarding is chaotic. Not alot of room for growth unless you have your MLIS or have been there for several years (likely both). Terrible pay. County insurance is not all it's cracked up to be compared to other local government employee insurance benefits

Pros

The library staff is dedicated and knowledgeable, and the customer service is exemplary. The work environment is supportive, and co-workers are always helpful. The library offers a wide range of programs and resources for the community.

Cons

Sometimes the schedule seems difficult, with evenings and week-ends, however this is clearly stated and understood when accepting a job here.

Pros

Some of my colleagues were great to work with, and there are a few talented individuals on the team. The office environment itself has some opportunities for learning new skills internally.

Cons

Senior leadership is vindictive and often demonstrates attributional bias, which creates a toxic atmosphere. Frequent turnover is a direct result of the constant stress and scapegoating of employees. If you made a mistake the managers would not support you. I found there was little to no support for new ideas or projects, making it difficult to feel motivated or valued.
