Pros

The U.P. spin machine is REALLY impressive, and with the money they're pumping into it, it should be.

Cons

The worst aspects of Union Pacific are the SALE point reasons the Recruiters use to sell you on them: pay, benefits, "network". You get lied to about your pay while in training; they send you a list of pay rates when they are courting you but forget to tell you it's only 75% of that?! Yup. IF the UTU/Smart Reps MIGHT tell you about Claims or how to file them, they are refused for travel, mileage, meals, and lodging while in training. Work Location; your Hire location will more than likely have NOTHING to do with where you train OR eventually WORK!? Yup. Training program; this is the strangest part of the whole big picture of LEARNing what to do on the RailRoad-everyone sees it as a program "set up for failure". Conductors and Switchers being hired today are being replaced when currently in training FITs are sent back to their original positions, hence the title here of "Limited Term/ Temporary teams"; all the new hires today are doing is covering the vacant jobs of people in training, until they RETURN from training, then you're out of a job. Your training files will be falsified, FTX records ARE FALSIFIED, and they are hunting down the Seniority employees using New Hires to testify against them for a push out. Sounds attractive, right?
