Pros
Ability to work from home
Cons
Constant and persistent fear of maintaining employment. Leadership makes and changes decisions regularly, and imposes new expectations every few weeks. Kinetic, the consumer internet service division or Uniti, is no longer their priority. Nobody will challenge the junior executive leadership for fear of retribution, so regardless if they believe a new directive is feasible or reasonable, managers and supervisors pass it on to front line staff to accomplish. It becomes so cutthroat that there is no trust between sales representatives, as everyone is competing against each other for positive numbers and KPIs. Upward mobility is only available to those with a close relationship with senior management, regardless of their tenure, accomplishments, or abilities. There is such a disconnect between what the CEO and senior executive staff promises or how they define our services, and the junior executive and director staff define our roles and expectations. It is so gross to hear the CEO say something at a company-wide meeting, but be told the opposite from the directors.
The entire customer-facing sales and community support staff were laid off over a series months. The only face-to-face sales now occurs door-to-door. Customers cannot stop by a local Kinetic office anywhere in the country to ask questions, resolve issues, pay bills, or even sign up for phone & internet services. The entire business has flipped from providing local communities with superior telecom services, to earning as much as possible for their shareholder.
