Pros
Lots of exposure to the biotech industry (if working at a customer site). No previous laboratory experience required. Great first job for graduates in any biology/chemistry discipline. Lots of opportunity for moving in to a leadership position or lateral movement to other departments. Great benefits package including commuter benefits.
Cons
Base compensation increases could be higher. In some departments, turnover can be higher than normal due to staff being hired by the company that owns the contract, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it does result in training new staff more often.
