Pros
Some good colleagues in tech team
Cons
Unfortunately, this is not an ambitious company to work for, which is quite disheartening. The general atmosphere in the office was poor - even within the sales team, the room was often silent, reflecting the lack of new business being generated. With no flexible working in place, you would expect more effort to build a positive and engaging environment, but that was not the case.
There were also certain practices I did not agree with. For example, staff were involved daily reports on their activity, sometimes twice a day, which felt unnecessary and overbearing. Additionally, IT helpdesk technicians were expected to contribute to sales and “think like salespeople”.
Leadership came from a non-technical background, and from the top down there was a clear lack of vision and direction. The directors are probably content simply drawing a wage, while the wider workforce seemed docile and unmotivated.
Overall, Unity did not feel like a stable company to work for, nor one I could feel proud to represent.
