Pros

Work life balance in my department is okay. Other departments have forced overtime so I was lucky to be able to avoid that. Coworkers were great

Cons

I will try to sum this up quickly: If you're thinking about accepting a position at Univar in AR, Credit or Cash Apps you need to look elsewhere. Those department's are all under the same umbrella and they all roll up to one of the worst managers you can work for. Main issues: Lack of communication Lack of training Lack of growth opportunities: Univar is the type of company that will not promote you because you are valuable in your current role. They don't wish to promote you to another role since that would mean they need to find a replacement for you. I know I may sound bitter to the random person reading this on the internet, I simply want to warm you and I don't wish any evil on you. Working in the 3 department's I listed.... I know you will not be happy. The amount of turnover in these roles is shocking. You will also end up taking over your coworkers accounts and responsibilities while Univar fails to find new hires since no one wants to work those jobs at Univar for the reasons I have listed. If you are thinking about joining Univar Solutions in another role, I'm sure it is better but I can't comment on if it's worth it or not.

Pros

Exposure to large, high-value accounts and complex operational challenges. The role builds resilience quickly and provides strong experience in account management, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration. There is a high level of ownership in day-to-day responsibilities, which can accelerate skill development for those who are self-driven.

Cons

Since the acquisition by Apollo, the work environment has noticeably declined. While new processes were introduced, leadership often did not take the time to fully understand or follow them, creating confusion and inconsistency across teams. Employees who raised questions or tried to improve processes were not always received positively, which discouraged feedback and innovation. There is also a lack of alignment between departments, leading to inefficiencies, miscommunication, and added pressure on employees managing critical accounts. Workloads are frequently excessive without adequate support, contributing to burnout and turnover. Compensation does not consistently reflect the level of responsibility and workload expected, which further impacts morale and retention. Overall, the organization feels reactive rather than structured, and direction has become increasingly unclear.
