Pros
It can be a relaxed working environment depending on which research group you are with. Unfortunately for me this is not the case and they treat everything like we are in industry.
Cons
No benefits for staff in UCD. Food overpriced and overrated. Pay is bad for the work load. Sometimes expected to work overtime. Most people are nice, but can be some difficult people to deal with. I think some of the people in here are afraid to go into the real world (industry) and treat it as their safe bubble. This probably depends on who you work with but for me there is a lot of micromanagement and monitoring. Also some people in here have a large sense of entitlement and arrogance. Overall not a great place to work in.
