The work is meaningful. Some frontline staff are genuinely dedicated to the communities they serve.

Workload expectations are unsustainable and there is no mechanism to address that. There is no functional internal accountability. The CEO and Director are married which means complaints cycle back to the same people who created the conditions being complained about. The organization's Indigenous identity is prominent in how it presents publicly. It is much less evident in how Indigenous staff are treated internally when they advocate for themselves or the people they serve.

The medical benefits and relationship building with the kids.

If you were to write a book on toxic work relationships, and toxic gossip this company would be its cover girl. Upper management is probably one of the worst put together pessimistic pathetic excuse teams this field has ever seen. A company that prides itself at looking after people and helping people, couldn’t be more opposite. The management doesn’t care about the children’s diet. Their daily needs all they care about is the dollar and how many kids they can get in and how much more money they can get. It’s very sad that this is what we got for a standard for youth care work. I really hope someday that this company is investigated fully because it deserves everything that happens to it. Start looking at the very top and work your way down.
