Pros

Helping kids make progress was a real joy. It was the only joy of this job. I stayed for as long as I did for the kids.

Cons

The job was obviously very challenging. What made the situation worse was the poor attitude of the leadership. They didn't organize stuff and were to blame for all the chaos. The working hours were also long, brutal, and exhausting. Spending a lot of time with the kids was an essential part of the job. It often meant that employees had to stay late and tackle more stress every day. The job satisfaction went down with time as the stress increased. I remember just doing things for the sake of it because my heart wasn't in it. I couldn't see myself repeating the same pattern for the next few years. So I quit. I work at a much less toxic workplace now. I am happier.

Pros

Diverse experiences and meaningful responsibilities. I learned how to adjust my approach based on individual needs and goals. Career development and useful training. The experience improved my observation skills and helped me become more patient. The work remains engaging because progress often happens in unexpected ways.

Cons

Progress is not always immediate, which can be frustrating during difficult cases.

Pros

- Sessions are focused on concrete goals, and you see clients make progress over time, which is really motivating. - Supervisors are available for guidance but trust you to handle the work without any hand-holding. - The training is practical, which helps you feel prepared when you start seeing clients. - Schedules are usually consistent and changes are rare, so you can make personal plans with confidence.

Cons

Caseloads are heavy at times, which is also mentally on top of physically exhausting.
