Pros

Friendly employees, office is in a good central location within Leicester

Cons

Expected to work beyond your contracted hours daily with no extra pay or time back in lieu. Strict working environment where any discussion between employees is frowned upon and silence is expected. Salary is not reflected in the differing amounts of work given to employees, workload is disproportionate between staff and some staff receive benefits when others don't. No HR department, some staff are given contracts, others have not received them. Long notice periods, 6-8 weeks. Bosses actively encourage employees to discuss each other's work performance. Bosses also speak badly about staff directly to clients outside the company. There is a lot of micro management and all emails are monitored by management. There is a lack of progression opportunities or job security, people are fired regularly. Outdated IT software used which means work comes to a grinding halt when the system regularly goes down

Pros

Unsworth Sugden has a genuinely great team made up of high‑quality, committed people. It’s a service‑driven environment where the best interests of clients always come first, and that ethos runs through every department. The culture is supportive, friendly and collaborative — everyone is willing to help each other out, no matter how busy things get. The business is also highly adaptable to change, which keeps the work fresh and forward‑looking. There are plenty of opportunities for progression, especially with such a young, enthusiastic and ambitious team coming through. Leadership is open, transparent and approachable, creating a dynamic environment where ideas are welcomed and communication is clear.

Cons

No major cons — as with any fast‑paced agency, the team spirit and support make a big difference.

Pros

Good variety of client work keeps things interesting and there's genuine opportunity to develop your skills across SEO, PPC and digital strategy. The team is knowledgeable and collaborative, and there's a lot of trust given to get on with the job without being micromanaged. What stands out most is that leadership genuinely cares about you as a person they are understanding and supportive, which isn't something you find everywhere in agency life.

Cons

Like most agencies, workload can spike and you're sometimes pulled across multiple accounts at once, but it's not unusual for the industry.
