Don’t waste your skills. They will not be appreciated. - Registered Nurse Uplift Hospice Employee Review

Pros

The patient encounters are the best part of the job. EMR is fairly intuitive and user friendly.

Cons

Constant staff turnover disrupts patient care and causes numerous service failures. For reference, at least 17 staff left in the less than a year I was at my location. (I can only imagine how much turnover there is at the main location.) Marketing has too much control over company decisions. The 4 day work week was rescinded in only the Las Vegas location and the staff were told if we weren’t “all in” to resign. Extra training and skills obtained are not appreciated or acknowledged. Two of the c-suite have zero healthcare experience, outside of this one company, yet think they can run a multi state hospice.

Pros

My experience with Uplift Hospice has been such a great opportunity to continue to learn and grow in the healthcare industry, while working alongside an amazing group of people who are passionate about providing excellent care to support patients and families. I have been working in home health and hospice for many years and I can genuinely say that working with Uplift has been by far the most rewarding job of my career. The employees are valued, heard, and rewarded for their efforts. This is a growing company that really makes a lot of effort to invest in their employees, and leadership is very supportive of employees at every level.

Pros

The work itself is meaningful, and there are some employees who are kind and supportive on a day-to-day level.

Cons

Warning to potential employees: My experience at Uplift Hospice was defined by a deeply unprofessional and toxic leadership culture. CEO & COO behavior felt inconsistent, unstructured, and heavily influenced by favoritism rather than accountability or professionalism. There was a clear culture of pressure around participating in informal social drinking with leadership, which created uncomfortable boundaries and blurred professional lines. Employees who chose not to participate or who raised concerns often felt sidelined or treated differently afterward. Communication from leadership was poor, concerns were routinely dismissed, and the overall environment felt unstable and emotionally draining. High turnover and low morale appeared to be ongoing issues rather than being addressed. While the company may present itself as organized and mission-driven externally, the internal reality felt very different. I would strongly caution anyone considering employment here to think carefully about the leadership culture and whether it is a professional environment they want to be part of.
