Founders and leadership are on some ego ride. They don’t care about your work experience or knowledge but just a piece of paper/degree from some top-notch university. One with more knowledge and expertise is paid less than even a fresher from a fancy college.  A lot of internal politics and groupism throughout the company.  No recognition if you aren’t on the list of favorites.  Managers are extremely inhuman or are trained to be like that. They are cultivating a culture of fear-mongering. Hiring happens with different conditions and that gets changed overnight.  The founders show a completely deceptive image to the employees and portray themselves as approachable beings, but whenever they try doing that, they see the real imagery.  One BIG fraud by which they mislead people:  1) They force people to put down their papers so that they don’t have to bear any costs.  2) In their leave policy it's stated that they adhere to the Shops & Establishments Act of India & its States as per which the FnF should happen within two days and the organization is liable to encash leaves but they refuse to do the same. 3) They’ll hire people for something and make them do something completely different.  Treat this organization as a pitstop that too if not even a single job is available for you. DO NOT work here if you want to flourish your career.  Amateur managers, directionless functioning.  A company opened just for fun no real and realistic work/vision.

We take your feedback seriously and will work very hard to improve further on the mentioned aspects but we are a little surprised to hear about your experience because: Upscalio leadership has worked very hard to create democratic environment and a strong system where all colleagues are encouraged to share and debate their views/ideas and then collectively inform decision-making. Moreover, Upscalio leaders have always been open to hear constructive feedback via frequent 1-1s, open forums, and work alongside colleagues to improve things. Equality and Parity w.r.t employee compensation and appraisals is taken very seriously at Upscalio. At the time of extending offers, we consider incoming candidates' hike expectations, demonstrated impact in past roles, industry benchmarks, and internal band structures. We believe in rewarding colleagues whole-heartedly not just for output but also for input. Upscalio also gives paramount importance to our employees' physical and mental well-being. Our people come first for us. There are various things in place for promoting work-life balance and healthy work environment at Upscalio. Firstly, Upscalio has a very strong "no-questions-asked leave policy" in place with employees having the option to avail 20+ planned leaves, 10+ sick leaves, 5 floater holidays, paternity/maternity, personal event leaves. The intent is to promote well-being and for colleagues to take leaves as and when required, and hence leaves are non-cashable in nature. Secondly, Upscalio employees are strongly encouraged to take time-off (comp offs) post mega sales/hectic periods, e.g., all brand, category and marketing teams were asked to take leave on Friday after Diwali sales 2021. Thirdly, there are weekly snack treats, monthly company-wide celebrations/parties, and company-wide townhalls to celebrate people & their contributions. Lastly, it's important for employees to acknowledge that Upscalio is 15 month old startup which is trying to build India's next consumer giant and getting there FAST requires everyone to have an ownership mindset, wear the hustle hat and keep going. Additionally, we are actively working on streamlining processes via automation initiatives (e.g., Analytics), organization team structures, etc.

Pros

Its a performance driven culture where roles are very meaty and 360 degree P&L mgmt responsibilities are given. Freedom to both ideate and execute is given. Lot of smart people on the floor so peer learning is great. Founders are empathetic and mentor towards delivering growth impact to business. Fair to say I have learnt more here in past 1 year vs 5 years of my previous experience put together.

Be prepared to deal with ambiguity and fast pace.
