The worst role I ever accepted - Sales Executive Usay Compare Employee Review

Pros

The £35k salary they bang on about is NOT one of them - you will be expected to work 12-hour "mega" days regularly. This means 4 hours of unpaid overtime - which you are constantly bullied into accepting and committing to. I did enjoy the training provided by Matt in Cirencester though - he was one of the only genuine people I met.

Cons

The job was sold to me with big promises. However, the reality of it became clear once training was completed. If you have any chance of success you then you must forget about your private life, and forget about maintaining your relationship. The poor reviews from other staff replicate my experience. You will be expected to work and commit to 8am-8pm "mega" days - this is 4 hrs unpaid overtime each time. The commute to work was some distance away for me too, and you are expected in by 7:40am for daily team meetings where you are all interrogated one-by-one as to whether you have any expected sales. If I hear the term phony term "off-the-bat" sale one more time I'll scream. I declined the first mega day after my training was completed because it was clear a bonus could not be achieved, therefore I would be working for free and giving up my own time. The arrogant assistant manager said "what about the team?". The recruitments & training process highlighted that we would be making £100,000+ - only possible if you fancy giving up your private life and dropping dead soon. They offer a small number of "free" leads in exchange for being bullied into the mega days. You are normally charged for each lead, about £40 for every client is deducted from your personal bonus account - you could end up owing the company money and this deficit is carried over into the next month. And if you're too ill to attend, then of course you are not paid whatsoever. The leads provided were awful, they are not warm leads - the clients had no idea who Usay were most of the time. For £40 each you'd expect quality clients. But the vast majority of potential clients were looking to cover existing medical conditions - and so it was my job to overcome the fact that they would have no cover for existing conditions, but new conditions would be covered. As you can expect, this was a big hurdle. Unfortunately, the vast majority of the general public do not understand that existing events will not be covered under any new insurance policy. These people should have considered cover earlier. You are bombarded with constant emails from management with phony Wolf of Wall Street influenced sales BS quotes, and even when you're home the works whatsapp group won't leave you alone. Usay celebrate and highlight any failure of the NHS during team meetings - this is bad news for most of us, but great news for Usays potential profits and it's obviously used as a method of talking people into buying their policies by highlighting the mess with the NHS and the GPs. It's just too corrupt for me, they genuinely don't care about anyone but themselves. I wasted my time applying for this role.
