Office is dirty and over-crowded, with workers packed together so coughs and flu and, yes, also Covid, spread like wildfire. The noise level makes concentration difficult but apparently the wearing of headphones to drown it out so you can work "does not foster a team environment" and is "at odds with the culture". As that "culture" seems to involve a few of the loudest voices shouting the rest of us down, and a clique that gets endless development opportunities and promotions while producing lacklustre results compared to colleagues outside of the "in-crowd", I think I'll stick with the headphones. Also, customers beware: because of the overcrowding and lack of privacy, we can hear all your conversations with the people sitting in the two to three desks around us.
