Pros

There was a coffee machine in the office

Cons

Most obviously there was a really high turnover rate. Work-life balance - not there at all, literally zero empathy for employees as actual people. Also it was basically customer service and nothing to do with the job position title lol. You literally are expected to complete like 10 tasks within 15 minutes and respond to internal IM’s immediately. Seriously underpaid for the amount and type of work. Also people always quitting or getting fired for not meeting the unrealistic expectations so if you get hired it’ll prob be either just you or one other person dealing with all of the work coming in. Company culture - just no. Communication isn’t great and they have rules that feel invasive. Like not being able to discuss parts of the job you’re concerned with with your coworkers. There were one-on-one meetings where your performance was rated but expectations were not actually stated beforehand. Management would speak about their colleagues during meetings with us and ask us “not to let it leave the room” so basically gossiping? The office itself - looks unclean, small, no windows, dim, they don’t provide helpful equipment like headsets even though they expect you to type out emails and do a bunch of other tasks while you’re on a phone call. They tell you this is a career but it doesn’t feel that way literally at all. Also the “opportunities” seem to be available to people who don’t mind spending all of their time working even during their lunch break or when they’re literally already at home. If you’re ok all of that then go for it, but I wouldn’t recommend this position to someone with a few free who’s looking for a legitimate project coordination/management role.

Pros

I've had a great experience working at VERT Environmental. The company has built a strong culture centered around teamwork, professionalism, and delivering high-quality service to clients. Leadership is approachable, supportive, and genuinely invested in employee success. One of the things I appreciate most is the opportunity for growth and development. Employees are encouraged to learn new skills, take on additional responsibilities, and advance within the organization. The work is meaningful, and it's rewarding to be part of a team that helps clients navigate challenging environmental situations. The company also values collaboration and communication, creating an environment where people work together to solve problems and achieve results. Like any growing organization, there are always opportunities to improve processes, but management is receptive to feedback and continuously works to make the company better. Supportive team, growth opportunities, meaningful work, strong leadership, positive culture.

Cons

Fast-paced environment can be challenging at times, but it also creates opportunities to learn and develop professionally.

Pros

Sales job pays well and is rewarding if you stick with it long enough to build a book of business. Good benefits for health/retirement plans. The company provides all modern equipment so I don't need to use my personal cars, credit cards, phone, laptop, etc. Good support from other departments to follow through on client requests. This industry will never disappear because property damage/emergencies/renovations will always happen and California only seems to become more strict with its regulations which is good for us as a business/sales person. Company provides in-depth training and continues to offer training even for seasoned team members. There's always someone I can reach out to for help or advice. Everyone is very friendly and easy to get along with. It's very inclusive to the whole sales team for decision making that impacts the sales department.

Cons

It can take a long time to build a book of business. It's a lot of time in the field and a lot of driving. If you can't hold yourself accountable and you're not motivated, then this job is not for you. You must always have your phone on you and be aware if someone is calling/texting/emailing for a project request and it normally must be answered quickly. This sales position is only for people willing to put in the work and time. It's not a position that is rewarding immediately. If you're not mildly tech savvy, it may be difficult because there are multiple programs we use but mainly Microsoft programs.
