CEO - Chief Executive Officer VIDA Digital Identity Employee Review

Pros

At VIDA, it's all about the vision and mission. We are here to make an impact, and leverage unique roots of trust and global technology stacks to create a frictionless digital identity system. We want to make it really simple and secure for everyone to prove who they are, anytime, anywhere. We have the opportunity to fundamentally change hundreds of millions of lives. This is what makes our work meaningful.

Cons

We are still in our early stages of growth. While we have many advantages of having a seasoned team of serial entrepreneurs, building is never easy. Finding the right people to build with is even harder. We would rather have a small and tightly knit team, which inevitably forces us to prioritize only the really important things that we should do.

Pros

- good work life balance - nice tools available with AI assistant to help you code - contrary to many opinions here, I think there're politics (since the company is small, you might interact with the main leaderships), but it is still normal for a company

Cons

- try not to over-optimize on things, it might backfire and create additional work instead.

Pros

Many colleagues were driven, and kind. Partial wfo ease balancing collaboration and deep work. There is a fun sense of “it’s chaotic but we make it work”.

Cons

Personal likability does outweigh merit here. I was let go at the end of my probation without explanation, despite strong performance and visible progress in my work. After submitting a formal report, I was told an internal investigation would happen, but I never heard back. In teams where psychological safety depends on personal fit with a manager, good work does not protect you. Process does not either, probation loophole was weaponized. I wish I would have taken another offer instead.
