Pros
Working at VIGILINT offers numerous advantages, including an outstanding benefits package. The employer covers the cost of benefits, there is ample PTO, and there is flexibility to take time off as needed. Additionally, I have the ability to adjust my schedule by working more hours on certain days to accommodate time off on others.
One of the most valuable aspects of VIGILINT is the open feedback culture. I can provide honest feedback to supervisors without fear of retaliation. Contrary to some reviews, I have always felt that my candid opinions were welcomed and respected. Even during periods when I struggled to find my footing, I was treated with respect and understanding.
At VIGILINT, I am entrusted with my responsibilities and expected to complete my tasks without being micromanaged. There is no strict requirement to be at my desk from 9-5, as long as I ensure my work is done. This level of trust and autonomy is highly appreciated and fosters a positive work environment.
Cons
I have worked in various industries, most recently as a nurse. During my career, I have experienced some of the most challenging work environments, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. When I found VIGILINT, I was searching for a new start, which I found here. Although my initial interview opportunity came through a connection in management, I still had to interview and prove my capabilities.
Over the past four years at VIGILINT, my journey has not always been easy, but it has been rewarding. I have read reviews suggesting that only friends and family of management are treated with respect, but my experience has been different. I have had to earn my position through hard work and dedication. Any pay increases I have received were deserved and not a result of favoritism. In fact, it often felt more challenging to receive recognition to avoid any perception of favoritism.
Is every day perfect at VIGILINT? No, but I see a company committed to trying to do things differently. Management is often busy, and it can sometimes be difficult to get immediate responses due to the demanding nature of their roles. However, I have observed continuous efforts to improve. Management acknowledges their faults and actively works on solutions.
I have witnessed genuine care for employees, with management going above and beyond to support those facing difficult times. These acts of kindness are done privately, without seeking accolades or approval. This approach speaks volumes about their integrity and dedication to their team.
In turn, when complaints have been made about employees internally, they are always addressed and actioned with respect to all parties involved. There are no public reprimands; issues are handled privately with a plan for remediation. I have watched management take an employee who should have been fired many times over and move them to other positions in hopes of them finding their way.
