Pros

By far the best benefit is being able to WFA. Several of our team live the digital nomad lifestyle and are able to meet up with other team members all over the world all while mixing up work and time off. The team is super - just really smart and great people. The clients are (for the most part) doing really amazing things with new tech products across every vertical and we get to introduce them to the broader market. I've learned more about tech and VC in 6 months than I even knew was possible in an environment that supports learning.

Cons

It's a hard job and you have to always be a step ahead of your founder clients so it's not for the easily stressed person. I'm a high energy person so this is exactly my speed but I can see how it could be tough for a more mellow person. WFA is awesome but it can be lonely and you have to very disciplined about your work life without the benefit of coworkers and an office (though we have WeWork and that is a lifesaver!).

Pros

Strong company culture. Smart, driven, and supportive colleagues. Work from anywhere Brilliant clients with leading edge technology Opportunities to learn new skills all the time

Cons

Not exactly a con, but the company moves at a high speed because our clients are at the very edge of technology and you have to be on your toes and learning all the time.

Pros

Working at VSC was not easy, however, I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. My time working here taught me more about PR and communications than all of college did. I really appreciated the fact that my managers, Maggie Philbin and Rick Liebling, would take the time to really coach me. My mentors were competent, and their hands-on training made me respect them so much. VSC is creative, adaptable, and keeps up with trends. That said, we worked fast to keep up with the newest strategies for promoting our clients. These strategies are invaluable. It was hard work, but the company does its best to maintain good work/life balance with remote work and vacation days.

Cons

Keeping up with the speed of Silicon Valley is difficult if you are not passionate about tech. Like any other industry, there's a lot you need to know about the culture, history, and jargon in order to write about it authoritatively. Our clients, being startup founders, could be inconsistent.
